Charles Muller

Charles Muller is a member ofThe Directors' Office, the leading practice of Independent Directors in Luxembourg.

Charles has 30 years of experience in the mutual and alternative fund space and in Investment Management Regulation. After studying law in Paris and London, Charles became a Luxembourg barrister before joining the Banque Générale de Luxembourg as deputy secretary general in 1994. He has held Board Management Committee positions with global and European fund associations (IIFA and EFAMA) and was Deputy Director General of ALFI from 2003 to 2011.

In 2011, Charles joined KPMG Luxembourg as a Partner, Head of Regulatory and Leader of the European Centre for Investment Management Regulation. He was also member of the KPMG Global leadership team for investment management and a Global Lead on AIFMD.

As of March 2018, Charles became an independent attorney (avocat à la cour) and director, joining The Directors’ Office in October 2018. Charles is a regular speaker at industry conferences and continues to consult with KPMG alongside his work as a lawyer, trainer and independent director.
